Home Assistant's SkyConnect is created to be the ideal pair for home Assistant users, offering a easy -to -make -support connection and promising future support to matter specifications through a Home Assistant firmware update.
This device enables easy and fast firmware updates via USB Over-The-Wire (OTW), supporting both Zigbee and Matter. It is an EFR32 Series 2 (Silicon Labs EZSP V8) adapter capable of emitting +20 dbm power signals and high-speed USB 2.0 compatible when used with the supplied USB extensor.
The equipment is based on a Silicon Labs EFR32MG21, incorporating a 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 radio MCU for multiprootocols, able to simultaneously manage Zigbee 3.0 technologies (Embberznet/EZSP) and thread (Optionyread/Spinel, including Matter/Thread Chip) by Firmware in RCP (Co-Process Radio) mode.
Local direct serial communication will be carried out through an integrated USB bridge/converter, probably a CP210x silicon labs chip.
To make it easier to interact with ESBER Batteries for Zigbee and Matter, Home Assistant will provide a plugin, ensuring regular firmware updates to optimize the user experience with the Zigbee/Matter adapter. The USB device is Plug and Play, fully compatible with Home Assistant's Zigbee Residential Automation Integration, promoting an affordable approach to novices.
