The SONOFF ZBMINIR2 Extreme is a compact smart switch based on the Zigbee 3.0 protocol, which can be installed in standard EU/86/120 mounting boxes. With support for a maximum load of 10A, it is compatible with various types of external switches, allowing traditional switches to be turned into smart ones, providing greater convenience and control in your home.
This device requires a Zigbee hub, such as the SONOFF NSPanel Pro, SONOFF iHost, or Philips Hue, to work. It acts as a Zigbee router, supporting up to 64 sub-devices, strengthening the signal and expanding coverage, which makes your Zigbee network more reliable and robust. In addition, the ZBMINIr2 Extreme is compatible with third-party open-source platforms such as Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT.
The switch offers advanced features such as 'Decoupled Mode', which keeps smart lights on even when the external switch is off, and the 'Power-On Delay' function, which protects against damage caused by high currents after a power failure. SONOFF laboratory test data indicate that, in open environments and in Turbo Mode, the ZBMINIR2 Extreme communication distance can reach up to 200 meters, five times more than the ZBMINIR2 model.
