The Shelly Dimmer Gen4 is a smart dimming controller that turns any existing lighting installation into a modern, connected experience. Compatible with dimmable LED, incandescent and halogen bulbs, this compact module is installed behind the wall switch and offers full control over brightness, schedules and automations.

Description

Designed to maximize flexibility in smart installations, the Shelly Dimmer Gen4 supports multiprotocol connectivity with WiFi 6 (802.11 b/g/n/ax), Bluetooth 5.0, Zigbee 3.0 and Matter. This means you can integrate it into your preferred network, either directly via WiFi without the need for a hub, or through a Zigbee coordinator or Matter controller. Dimming is precise and ultra-smooth, with trailing edge technology that eliminates brightness jumps and flicker. It is possible to set minimum and maximum brightness values, adjust the transition speed (fade time) when turning on/off, and configure night mode for more welcoming environments. The Shelly Dimmer Gen4 works with or without a neutral wire, adapting to old and new installations without the need for construction work. For loads below 20 W without neutral, the use of the Shelly Dimmer Bypass is recommended (sold separately). The Shelly Smart Control app, free for iOS and Android, offers full control without the need for external hubs. It supports schedules (up to 20), webhooks (up to 20 with 5 URLs each), local scripts, MQTT and KNXnet/IP communication for professional projects.

Usage Examples

1. Living Room Lighting

Adjust the light intensity to create the perfect atmosphere at any time of day. Schedule gradual dimming at the end of the day and a gradual increase at sunrise.

2. Bedroom with Night Mode

Configure night mode so that the lights turn on automatically at minimum intensity during the night, avoiding glare. Ideal for baby and children's bedrooms.

3. Automation with Scripting

Use local scripts to create advanced automations, such as courtesy lighting that fades out gradually when leaving a room, or synchronisation with motion sensors.

4. Multi-Ecosystem Compatibility

Integrate with Home Assistant, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit (via Matter) and Samsung SmartThings. It also supports KNXnet/IP for professional automation projects.
