This device requires a Zigbee hub, such as the SONOFF NSPanel Pro, SONOFF iHost, or Philips Hue, to function. It acts as a Zigbee router, supporting up to 64 sub-devices, strengthening the signal and expanding coverage, which makes your Zigbee network more reliable and robust. Additionally, the ZBMINIr2 Extreme is compatible with third-party open-source platforms such as Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT.
The switch offers advanced features like 'Detach Mode', which keeps smart light bulbs powered even when the external switch is off, and the 'Power-on Delay' function, which protects against damage caused by high currents after a power failure. Test data from SONOFF laboratories indicate that, in an open environment and in Turbo Mode, the communication distance of the ZBMINIR2 Extreme can reach up to 200 meters, five times more than the ZBMINIR2 model.
